These are the basics you need for a classic "Speckknödel":

👉🏼 Speck (vegetarian options with cheese or spinach🥰)
👉🏼Onions
👉🏼Some milk
👉🏼Spices such and salt and pepper

The impressive parish church in Stilfes / Stilves, in the municipality of Freienfeld / Campo di Trens, is dedicated to St Peter and was first mentioned in a document in 1214 ⛪️. The breathtaking ceiling paintings are by Christoph Brandstätter. The frescoes and the furnishings of the church in the former decanate seat of Stilfes create a remarkable picture of a room of the later Baroque period 😊. Open all day.

South of Sterzing/Vipiteno, in the municipality of Freienfeld/Campo di Trens, lies the village of Niederried / Novale Basso ⛰. Right next to the bike path, stand two magnificent sweet chestnut trees🌳. They are the two northernmost free-standing sweet chestnut trees in South Tyrol.
